Whether you spend your spare time reading about quantum field theory, or you just think that electromagnetism is cool, you would fit in at the Society of Physics Students. We are open to anyone with an appreciation for physics. Whether you have a mild curiosity for the science, or an intellectual passion, our goal is to make you enjoy physics more. We do this in the following ways:
- Organize social gatherings. These include social mixers with food and movie nights.
- Arrange dinners with your Professors: discuss physics, classes, or current events with your physics professors over dinner at local restaurants, arranged and paid for by SPS.
- Maintain a Physics Outreach Program: visit local schools to share the excitement of physics by offering demonstrations of topics currently being studied, offer tutoring to the MIT community, and more.
- We are also a forum which encourages collaboration and communication between students interested in physics, regardless of their interests or level of experience.
You can reach us anytime by sending mail to sps-exec@mit.edu.
